Account & Data Deletion
Last updated: July 18, 2026
You can permanently delete your GarageBook account and all of the data associated with it at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what gets deleted.
Delete from inside the app (recommended)
- Open GarageBook and go to the Settings tab.
- Under Sync, make sure you're signed in, then tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and all cloud data are permanently deleted right away.
Request deletion by email
If you can't access the app, email support@getgaragebook.com from the email address associated with your account and ask us to delete your account. We'll verify and complete the deletion, typically within 30 days.
What gets deleted
| Data | Deleted |
|---|---|
| Your account (sign-in identity) | Yes — permanently |
| Synced records (vehicles, service, fuel, mods, wear, shops, parking) | Yes — permanently |
| Uploaded photos & receipts in cloud storage | Yes — permanently |
| Purchase history held by Apple/Google | Managed by the app store, not us |
Note about your device: GarageBook is local-first, so data stored on your
phone is separate from your account. Deleting your account removes the cloud copy; the records on your
device remain and the app keeps working offline. To also clear on-device data, delete the individual items in the
app or uninstall the app.
Retention
Once deleted, your account data is removed from our active systems immediately. Residual copies in encrypted backups, if any, are purged on our normal backup rotation. We may retain limited records where required by law (for example, tax records related to purchases handled by the app stores).
